Let’s be honest—there are days when the juggle feels more like a battle. I struggle with this more than I would like to admit.
Whether you’re waking early to prep lunches and answer emails before the kids are even out of bed, managing client meetings while soothing a teething baby, or collapsing into bed next to a spouse who also needs your attention… it’s a lot. And for my single mamas—doing all of this solo? You are warriors clothed in grace.
And then there’s the pressure of performance—leading a team, growing a business, meeting deadlines, showing up to a job where you can’t afford to slack. Maybe you’re working overtime to make ends meet, chasing a dream that keeps getting delayed, or feeling stuck in a job that drains more than it gives. Maybe you’re building something beautiful—and exhausted by the process.
The truth is, we can’t do it all—at least not all at once, and not all without being anchored in something greater than ourselves. That’s where faith comes in.
1. Start With God, Stay With God
Whether you’re married, single, working corporate, remote, part-time, or running your own business—the best rhythm begins with Jesus.
Start your day—even if it’s just five minutes—with prayer, Scripture, or worship. Invite the Holy Spirit into your calendar, inbox, errands, and boardroom before the day starts pulling you in a dozen directions.
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” – Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)
Let faith be your foundation—not an afterthought.
2. Redefine “Balance”
Balance doesn’t always mean perfect symmetry.
Some seasons your job may demand more—tight deadlines, travel, late-night emails—or your time may be pulled toward sports practices, school functions, grocery runs, and endless errands. Other seasons might require scaling back or shifting your focus. That’s not failure—that’s wisdom.
Instead of aiming for perfection, aim for presence.
Be fully where you are—on Zoom, in a meeting, with your clients, or with your children. Trust that grace fills the gaps you can’t.
Single moms, remember this: Your best is enough. God sees every sacrifice, every late night, every quiet moment of doubt. He is with you in the boardroom and the bedtime routine.
3. Honor Your Calling
Your work—whatever it is—is part of your purpose.
Whether you’re leading a team, caring for patients, teaching students, designing content, or selling handmade products online, your effort matters to God. Your gifts aren’t just for Sunday; they’re for every space He places you.
So dream big. Launch that business. Go for the promotion. Ask for the raise. Pivot into your passion. You don’t have to shrink to be holy.
You can be called, creative, and career-driven and still walk closely with God.
4. Protect Your Peace & Priorities
You don’t have to say yes to everything—and believe me, that’s something I’ve definitely gotten better at with age.
If it doesn’t nourish your faith, your family, or your future, it may not deserve your energy.
Create boundaries that honor your bandwidth:
- Set work hours and guard them.
- Limit late-night scrolling and over-committing.
- Say “no” without guilt and “yes” with intention.
- Block out time for strategic planning, not just endless doing.
- Build in personal “Selah” moments—pauses to breathe, reflect, and rest.
You don’t need hustle to prove your worth—you need wisdom to preserve it.
5. Find Your Tribe
Even in your career journey—you need people.
Find a mentor, connect with a women’s business network, or start a prayer circle with fellow working moms. Don’t isolate. Iron sharpens iron, and God often sends people to carry pieces of your load.
Surround yourself with other faith-filled women who can remind you of truth when you’re feeling unsure or unseen.
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2 (NIV)
6. Rest is Holy, Not Lazy
Burnout doesn’t glorify God.
Even Jesus stepped away from the crowds to rest and pray. You need that too. You were not built for constant output.
Schedule time to be—not just to do.
Whether it’s journaling, a walk between meetings, or turning off your phone for an hour—create sacred rest spaces.
Rest is not a reward—it’s part of the rhythm God designed for your soul.
🙏 A Prayer for You
Lord, thank You for every woman reading this—for the mothers, entrepreneurs, executives, creatives, caretakers, dreamers, and doers. Be their peace in chaos, their strength in deadlines, and their joy in the waiting. Teach them to partner with You in every assignment, and to rest in Your timing. Amen.
You Don’t Have to Be Perfect—Just Present
You are not failing because you’re tired.
You’re not weak for needing help.
You’re not “less than” because you don’t have it all figured out.
You are growing.
You are covered in grace.
You are walking with God—even when you’re unsure of the next step.
Keep going, sis. Your purpose is still unfolding—one surrendered, powerful step at a time.
