In life, we wrestle with the feeling of never being enough — not good enough, smart enough, holy enough, or simply enough. Yet God never asked for perfection before we came to Him or before He could use us. The truth is none of us are perfect.
I’ve walked through seasons of feeling “not enough” moments shaped by my own mistakes, painful circumstances, or the voices and opinions of others. Those thoughts can take root and grow into lies that the enemy plants to paralyze us, keeping us from stepping forward into the purpose God has placed on our lives.
But friend, hear this: God can use you right where you are. Even with your flaws, your past, and your imperfections… He is not surprised by any of it. That’s why Jesus died for us. When we turn away from sin and surrender our hearts, God’s grace covers us, and His strength shines through our weakness.
“If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” Isaiah 1:19
God is not searching for perfect people; he’s looking for willing hearts. Hearts that will say, “Here I am, Lord, use me.” (Isaiah 6:8)
As a mother, I love when my children obey because their obedience reflects not just respect, but love. In the same way, God delights in our obedience. Through it, we demonstrate our love for Him and reflect His grace and mercy to others. It’s through our obedience that the gospel spreads, lives are changed, and the Kingdom grows.
Yet, willingness comes with surrender. Following God’s will often costs something! It might mean letting go of certain habits, confessing hidden sins, or reprioritizing Him above everything else that has quietly taken first place in our hearts.
If your past decisions, your failures, or even the words of others; yes, even other believers, have made you feel like you’re not worthy of being used by God, lift your eyes to Heaven. Remember this: Jesus went to the cross before you ever repented, before you ever believed. That’s how deep His love runs.
Salvation is free, but it cost Him everything and in return, He asks for a life that glorifies Him. A life that reflects His mercy, His love, and His power to transform.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God; if anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 4:10-11
So what are you holding back from today because you don’t feel worthy enough or holy enough? What has God planted in you; a desire, a calling, a mission that you’re hesitating to step into because fear keeps whispering that you’re not enough?
Be obedient. Be courageous. God wants to use you, not a perfected version of you, but the willing, surrendered version. Seek Him, repent, and boldly follow His lead. Walk it out my friend and watch God pour out His blessing and favor on your obedience.
There is someone out there who needs your story, your testimony, your voice.
Don’t hide what God has placed inside you. You are uniquely created with a calling that only you can walk out.
Choose to walk in your purpose today.
You don’t have to be whole — just willing.
